Its primary role is to write and edit programming code from HTML and CSS to ASP, PHP, C++ and more. It is small and runs smoothly.

Supports plugins and there is a pretty large database (and a community) where there are different free plugins to add more features.

Some features includes syntax highlighting, possibility to collapse and expand blocks of code to maintain a clean workspace, advanced search and replace (you can search and replace in all files within a folder or for a single file), record macros to automate operations, spell checker and more.
