view all images (8) Microsoft Security Essentials is a free antivirus provided by Microsoft free of charge for all Windows users.

At the installation, program will make the update with latest virus definitions (which is recommended) and after that you will be able to scan whole computer or desired locations.

Allows to set an automatic scan based on custom intervals. Program will scan automatically your chosen locations based on timing that you set.

It provides real time protection against all king of viruses and malware, so is recommended to keep this option "Real time protection" activated.

From "Settings" menu you can personalize this software with your desired options, such as default actions (remove, quarantine, allow detected items), exclude files and locations or file types (e.g. .zip, .jpg and so on) to be scanned.

From "Advanced Options" you can enable creation of System Restore points before removing threats, scan removable drives and more.
