Fast Duplicate File Finder is able to detect identical files and in addition can search for similar ones (files that are not identical, but are similar and maybe they are duplicates).
Finding similar files (not only identical) can be useful if you know you may have multiple versions of a file that are slightly different and you want to clean up and delete them to keep your folders clean and free up disk space.
It features 3 methods to search:
100% equal files
similar files (you enter the percent %)
similar file names
You can set the program to perform different actions after is finishing: shutdown computer, logoff etc (useful if you scan whole computer and let it running all night long).
Can choose to compare only files with same extension.
After duplicates are found, you can sort them by column names (name, folder, size, time, similarity). Also can filter results by size (larger or smaller than desired size) or by date (older or newer).
Great to search not only for identical copies, but also for similar ones.
